INFO100, Introductory Visual Basic
It is required to use superzip for this course; it is not acceptable to use WinZip or PkZip or any other zip utility; the reason is that there are incompatibilities among these programs; I will always use superzip
To Create a Zip File
- have all of the files to be zipped in a working folder with no other files
- start superzip
- cancel the Profile Information window
- click the 1st toolbar icon "Create a new archive"
- use the New Archive window to locate the folder where you want the zip file to be created; type the name for your zip file in the text box; click the Save command button
- click the 5th toolbar icon "Add file to archive"; answer yes to the confirm window
- use the Add Files window to locate your working directory; select all of the files; click the open command button
- quit from superzip
To Unzip a Zip File
- prepare an empty working folder into which you will unzip the files
- start superzip
- cancel the Profile Information window
- click the 2nd toolbar icon "Open an existing archive"
- use the "Open archive" window to locate the zip file to be unzipped; double click on the file name
- select all of the file names in the superzip window
- click the 6th toolbar icon "Extract file from archive"; answer yes to the confirm window
- use the Select directory window to locate the working folder into which you will extract the files; click the OK command button
- quit from superzip
