Using SuperZip

It is required to use superzip for this course; it is not acceptable to use WinZip or PkZip or any other zip utility; the reason is that there are incompatibilities among these programs; I will always use superzip

To Create a Zip File

1. have all of the files to be zipped in a working folder with no other files
2. start superzip
3. cancel the Profile Information window
4. click the 1^st toolbar icon "Create a new archive"
5. use the New Archive window to locate the folder where you want the zip file to be created; type the name for your zip file in the text box; click the Save command button
6. click the 5^th toolbar icon "Add file to archive"; answer yes to the confirm window
7. use the Add Files window to locate your working directory; select all of the files; click the open command button
8. quit from superzip

To Unzip a Zip File

1. prepare an empty working folder into which you will unzip the files
2. start superzip
3. cancel the Profile Information window
4. click the 2^nd toolbar icon "Open an existing archive"
5. use the "Open archive" window to locate the zip file to be unzipped; double click on the file name
6. select all of the file names in the superzip window
7. click the 6^th toolbar icon "Extract file from archive"; answer yes to the confirm window
8. use the Select directory window to locate the working folder into which you will extract the files; click the OK command button
9. quit from superzip
